PE Update

2021 Swimming Water Safety Day

Unfortunately, do to current restrictions, our organised water safety days will not go ahead for this year. Swimworld will not be opening up to swimming lessons until Monday 8 November and there are no additional days for us to make any rebooking’s.

This is disappointing for the students and families involved but hopefully we can be back at the pool in 2022.

2022 District Swimming Competition

Early in Term 1 2022, we will preparing for our first District Schools event, WESA District Swimming Competition. This is an optional competition for students in Level 4, 5 and 6.

The students will have the option to trial for 50 metre swimming event of the 4 strokes (Breaststroke, Butterfly, Backstroke and Freestyle). Students can elect to trial for as many events as they wish. The trial date will be in the first couple of weeks in Term 1.

Below is a table of the different age groups and a recommended time for each of the 4 strokes

This is a rough guide based on last years’ times. The students with the quickest times in each age group and stroke, will be selected for the School District Competition.

As we head into summer, it would be a great opportunity for students to practice these strokes and try to improve on their times, to give themselves the best opportunity to make the team.
