Grow Cook Sell

Students in Grow Cook Sell were able to harvest cabbage and beetroot from the kitchen garden. This provided the students with an opportunity to prepare and serve the cabbage and beetroot in variety of dishes. Students prepared Pickled Beetroot, Lamb meatballs served with Beetroot Tzatzizki, Beetroot Chips, and Beetroot and Chocolate Muffins which were delicious!

Year 7 Agriculture

The Year 7 students have been learning about how to test if an egg is fresh. As last week was National Food Safety Week, students developed their understanding of why it is important when collecting eggs to date and store them correctly.

Congratulations to Chloe, Layla, Holly, and Aria on your dedication and commitment in preparing the calves for the Edenhope College show last week. Well done to Year 11 student Alana Ryan for her leadership and giving the Year 7 students at Edenhope College this amazing opportunity.

Year 7 Textiles

Some students have been producing their creatures using the sewing machine or by hand stitching, whilst other students have been at Peter Pan rehearsals over the last two weeks.

Primary Agriculture

Students in Foundation, One and Two have been learning about cows and what they produce in terms of food. Students virtually visited a dairy farm and discovered how dairy cows are milked and cared for. Students were then able to participate in a tasting session of products made from milk. They tasted milk, yoghurt, cheese and a delicious banana smoothie.

After having success with growing their vegetable scraps, the Grade 3/4 students were able to take their plants which had grown in the experiment they set up in the classroom. Students have planted them in the kitchen garden where they are continuing to grow. Students have enjoyed visiting the school farm, in particularly ‘Bobby’ a lamb that was raised by Hunter Adams in Year 8 during remote learning.
