Strength and Kindliness

Sandhurst World Youth Day Event

Saturday 20th November, 1pm-8pm,

St Kilian’s Bendigo

For ages 15-30.

Theme: Stand Up! (Acts 26:16)

Numbers of those able to physically attend in Bendigo will be capped to allow us to manage with the resources we have at our disposal.  As much of the day as possible will be live-streamed to our YouTube Channel and there will be active Social Media engagement on the day for those unable to attend.

A few key points about the physical event:

  • Anyone attending physically must be fully vaccinated in line with Victorian Roadmap
  • Online registrations will open 1 month prior (approx 22nd October)
  • The day will include workshops, a rally and Mass celebrated by Bishop Shane, plus opportunities for attendees to meet other people.
  • The event will be held almost entirely outdoors.
  • BYO food, drink and picnic rug or chair.

We will be announcing musicians, speakers, workshop leaders, and other information on our social media pages.

Music Ministry Workshop

In an endeavour to upskill the young people in our Diocese and create pathways into Parish Ministry, there are plans for several Music Ministries over the next year or so in different locations. The first of which will be taking place in Bendigo on Saturday 6th November, 10am-2:30pm (current restrictions allowing) to aid in the preparation for Sandhurst WYD.

This workshop day will be run by Gen Bryant (Gen Bryant - YouTube), specifically for 15-30 year olds and will consist of two focus areas. The first will be Music for Praise and Worship while the second will focus on Music for Liturgy. Participation in the workshop day will open up the possibility for young people to get involved in Diocesan Events, as well as local Parish Ministry. This is a great opportunity for any young music teachers (or the young at heart who are supervising students) to gain some new skills and insight into this popular area of faith development.

Places are limited so registrations are a must: youth@sandhurst.catholic.org.au

St Augustine’s College Prayer

God of life,

Created in your image,

We follow in the footsteps of your Son, Jesus.

We seek to know, love and serve you

as St Augustine and St Brigid did.

Jesus, our friend, inspire in each of us

an openness to being your missionary disciples.

Be with our College community as we

seek wisdom, pray for peace and work for justice.

Holy Spirit, guide us, to live with hope and courage

and to celebrate the gift of life with joy and gratitude.

We pray for the strength:     To embody kindliness

St Brigid of Kildare:                Pray for us

St Augustine of Hippo:         Pray for us
