Music Count Us In

Last Thursday, all of our students participated in the Music Count Us In celebration day. After spending the first part of the term learning the song and the Auslan translation, it was a very special experience to sing it at the same time as around 700,000 other students all over the country.

3L and 3T were also very lucky to meet one of the writers of the song. Roan Nair was one of the competition winners who helped to create the song and worked with these grade 3 classes last Wednesday.

I think that this years song is the best one and it's amazing how four high school or university students have written quite different songs and put them all together to make the song. It's called 'We Are' and they worked very hard and I think it explains a lot and it's travelled all the way from four people to a world wide song around Australian schools.

The experience of Music Count Us In was great. We learnt how to sing the song and the Auslan actions and we did it with all of the Australian schools. All of the children had a great time singing and doing the actions. It was amazing to sing 'We Are'.
