Principal's Report

Remembrance Day 2019

I attended the local RSL service for Remembrance Day on Monday with our talented school captains Caitlin and Lucas. They spoke and presented a wreath on behalf of our school in honour of all past service people.

Public Speaking Competition at Mt Pleasant Road PS

Four students represented Rangeview PS last week at the Public Speaking Competition.  Theodora X from Foundation spoke about 'The best thing about being me'.  Ella R from Grade 2 spoke about 'If I could have one super power', Ella P from Level 4 spoke about 'My three wishes' and Alex H from Grade 5 spoke about "When I'm a Prime Minister of Australia".  All students spoke clearly and confidently which is a credit to their preparation for the speech competition.  Theodora was the winner of the Foundation section.  Congratulations to all the students that participated in the competition, such a great learning experience.

After many tours with families and engaging transition sessions for our future foundation students, the important Foundation Information Evening is fast approaching – on Thursday 21 November at 7pm for all 2020 Foundation students’ families in our school hall.

Families unable to attend will have the information given out on the night posted to them. We are looking forward to welcoming our new students in foundation and 60 new families to Rangeview. There will be 5 classes and we anticipate that these students will be meeting their class teacher at the last transition session on Tuesday 10 December.

Rangeview Library Program

The Library Program here at Rangeview is an integral part of the curriculum for the students from Foundation through to Grade 6. All of the classes attend scheduled Library sessions once a week where they engage with picture story books, early readers novels and literature. Our Library is staffed by our wonderful Library Technician - Lynette Ellis. The school contributes significant funds to the upkeep and resourcing of the library each year, however this wonderful program could not be run as effectively without the generous voluntary parent contributions to our Library Fund. When you are next at school why not ask your child to take you to the Library to see what new books we have on the shelves.....
