What a ‘fantastisch’ celebration our Rangeview Oktoberfest was!

It was truly wonderful to see the amazing effort put into dressing up on the day, either in the German flag colours (schwarz, rot und gelb) or in the traditional Bavarian costumes ‘Dirndlkleid’ and ‘Lederhosen’.

Students enjoyed participating in German-inspired activities including cooking, craft and German party games.

At lunchtime students delighted in German treats such as ‘Würstchen in der Semmel’ (sausage in a roll), Brezeln (pretzels), Bienenstich (beesting cake), Apfelstrudel (apple strudel) and Pfefferkuchenmänner (gingerbread men).

In our special gatherings in the hall students, teachers and parents were entertained by performances from our Foundation students, the Junior and Senior Choirs, our awesome Rock Band, as well as participating in our whole-school songs “Tanz mit mir in Lederhosen” and “Mein Hut, der hat drei Ecken”.

Congratulations to all the winners of the ‘Best Dressed’ competition!

We wish to extend a huge ‘Danke schön’ to our Parents and Friends for organising the delicious German lunch, our amazing teachers for conducting the German activities, our Year 9 Vermont SC helpers, all the students and teachers involved in performances on the day, and to all the students (and their parents) for your wonderful effort in dressing up on the day and for participating cooperatively and enthusiastically in the festivities of the day. Congratulations also to Claire, our fabulous German Captain, for your support and assistance with this special celebration.
