Last Friday evening with far greater numbers of students in due to our Open Day on Saturday, we had several offerings for the evening. We had local junior football on in Harvey which some students chose to go and support their school mates. We also had two buses go into Eaton for a shopping trip.

Saturday was an early start and students were all excited for our Open Day activities. We had students assist our cleaners by emptying the dining room after breakfast so as it could be setup for the days proceedings. We also had students help set up the outdoor tables and chairs with a few umbrellas for our guests. At 8.00am it was all systems go as students and staff headed off in all directions for the day.

Residential had several students in their area, Hamish Omodei, Tay Proctor, Rowley Williams and Ava Hainsworth assisting with showing off the Residence. Students and staff were also involved in the sausage sizzle and drinks stand and were kept very busy at times. The Tallanalla dorm was open for display for prospective students and families of our current students to get to see what fantastic facilities we have.

Staff were also involved in the transportation of hundreds of guests to all the outer lying Farm sections with four buses and drivers working to get the masses out and around. It was a beautiful day and many of the visitors took the opportunity to enjoy the weather and walk to the closer areas such as Horticulture, Dairy, Equine and Intensive sections. From our perspective it was a highly successful event.

Saturday evening was more relaxed with some singing and guitar playing by Mr Hodgson playing and sharing some tunes with the students around the fire pit. Everyone had a great time and lots of fun.

Sunday was a lazy day with many students not appearing till very late in the morning. In the evening it was more relaxing around the fire pit. Unfortunately, we did experience some vandalism of College property when several of our giant connect four discs were placed in the fire. This is terribly disappointing when students do this and it makes some of our student property inoperable.

Monday was busy once again with Country Week basketball and footy training, netball in town and the “Dindindi Drumming”.

Tuesday saw more basketball training and our girls netball team fought out another draw in the town competition.

We wish everyone a fantastic break with an extended weekend and we hope everyone has sometime to relax and recharge for the remainder of the term.
