National Boarding Week

To wrap up National Boarding Week, we held the annual Masterchef competition.  Mr Ashley Keatch, Miss May Botha, Miss Tiffany Kok and Mr Mark Sawle judged the competition and there were two winning teams.

This day was also nominated as Principals Day as part of the celebration week.  Mr Sawle was presented with a caricature, designed by Mr Henry Baker our Facilities Gap Assistant.

Boarding Bus

A couple of years ago Mr Martin Franzinelli took a photo of the Boarding Bus on his run out to Pingrup.  This had us thinking that it would be great to get more photos of the bus out in the regions.

Martin, along with Wayne and Amber Freeman have been very busy working on this over the past year and we now have a growing stock of photos.

We will continue to build on this, particularly in the warmer months as last weekend was a tad wet when snapping a picture of the T Tree (part of the Farm Gate Art Trail) near Ravensthorpe.  Thanks to Hamish Medway for the help in getting out of the mud.  Photo credit of the bus to Amy Medway.

Driving Permission Form

We have had an influx of Year Twelves gaining their driver's licence over the past two terms and the car park is starting to fill.  Just a reminder that if your child would like to bring their car to boarding, please fill out the Driving Permission Form here.

Each year only Year Twelve boarders can have their car at boarding for the first three terms.  Year Elevens can start the application process to bring their cars to boarding after the Year Twelve students have left boarding for the last time, (after exams have finished) in Term Four.

Kingfisher Fair

The Kingfisher Fair is not too far away, (Week Eight of Term Three) and we need your help. Boarding will be running a chocolate wheel with prizes on offer. We are looking for boarding families to donate prizes for the chocolate wheel. Please send these back to school with your child any time from now until the end of the Closed Weekend in Term Three. Here are some ideas to help you choose something for the prize baskets:

  • gardening and hardware
  • giftware
  • arts
  • sporting
  • gourmet/pampering

Additionally, the students of Breaksea and Endeavour are going to make Rocky Road and sell these in decorated jars. We are looking for donations of large, empty Moccona jars, preferably 400gm jars. We would also love donations of the special edition pre-decorated Moccona jars, (see below).  Please send in any jars that you have collected to Breaksea House.

Flexischools

The Flexischools roster for Term Two is:

  • Monday - Endeavour
  • Tuesday - Eclipse
  • Wednesday - Breaksea
  • Thursday - Anchorage

As always, for students who are at TAFE or Workplace on their Flexischools day, they can negotiate an alternate day with the Canteen staff.
