Our 'Discovery' Inquiry unit has had us experimenting over the past two weeks. We have been investigating Light and the States of Matter. The children were learning to predict by considering a hypothesis and then following steps to conduct their own experiments.
Our Writing focus for the past two weeks has been on sentences. We have tried to extend our writing to including compound and complex sentences. This is going to add detail to our writing and create more interesting pieces of writing.
In reading we have been connecting to our Inquiry unit and reading about the discovery of light and States of Matter. We have found it interesting to see the changes that have been made over time and how different areas are still be investigated.
Two weeks ago we headed to Frankston East Primary school where we played a game of Soccer and Netball against their Year 5/6 classes. For many of us it was our first time playing this new sport and everyone did an amazing job! We hadn't had a lot of time to practise but everyone gave it their best shot. We can't wait to go to Frankston Primary school next week for another practise game and then our Lightning Premiership at JPC on the 7th of June.
Last week the Year 5s went to visit JPC to experience life as a High Schooler. The children participated in a Music and Geography lesson. They enjoyed their time asking questions of the teachers and seeing how big the school was.
Amidst the rain and cold weather our kids showed great sportsmanship and did their best in cross-country last week.
Have a fantastic weekend everyone,
Mr Cameron & Miss Ash :)
