Reading Groups

The Zombies Reading Group worked very hard on learning about contractions. 

Measurement

The last two weeks we've been learning all about measurement. The first week we looked at Area and Perimeter and learnt how to calculate an area by multiplying the width by the length. In the second week we explored formal measurement using estimation and comparison. We first had to estimate the measurement of an object or place and then use the appropriate measuring tool to find the correct measurement. It was lots of fun exploring. 

Fractions

Our new unit starting this week in Maths is Fractions. This week we played the game Colour in Fractions, it is a challenging game which uses the strategies of comparing fractions and finding equivalent fractions.

Writing

Facts about the Moon! We are learning about writing Information Texts. Last week we researched facts about the moon, sorted our facts from boring to interesting, shared them with a partner then included them in an Information Report.
