FREEZEMND Fund Raising - Thank You

As parents will know we have been involved in the FREEZEMND fund raising this year, led by the Britton and Gerrans families.

Malvern Primary School families, students and staff have thrown their support behind this extremely worthwhile fundraising event, buying MND products, running for sponsorship and engaging in the Ice Bucket Challenge.

The visit to the school on the 16th May by Hamish McLachlan (Channel 7), Pat Cunningham (MND Ambassador) and Taylor Adams (Collingwood FC) was incredibly informative and entertaining, enabling our students in particular to gain a greater appreciation of the reason for the fund raising.

I would like to thank the Britton and Gerrans families for their leadership of this incredibly worthy cause, Oscar and Hugo for keeping the community engaged and on track, the 100km Club students attending twice a week and getting sponsors to support the cause, our parent community for getting behind the cause by buying beanies and socks and our staff for supporting the students' efforts by taking the Ice Bucket Challenge.

At Friday's assembly we have the last of our Ice Bucket Challenges with Hugo and Oscar and a mystery person taking the plunge.

Our fund raising tally is over $35,000 - what a phenomenal effort!

The final tally will be provided once all the funds from the 100km Club running has been sent in to the school or entered onto the fundraising website.  Your child will be provided with their final lap tally in the next few days.

Again, thank you to everyone who has contributed in any way to this fund raiser.
