The Prep students have learnt about ipad care in Term 1 and are now exploring what Digital Technology means. They have learnt that Digi Tech devices are tools that have a power source and can save, send and receive data, such as letters/words/messages, number data, photos and videos and sounds.

Year 1 students have begun to learn about the difference between digital hardware and software. They are beginning to recognise that hardware can be touched and picked up/moved around such as a printer, phone or laptop, whereas software is a program within a device, such as messages, email and a camera app.

Grade 3 Digital Technologies

This term, students in Grade 3 are learning about Robots and Algorithms. They have started to use the Bee Bots to program instructions and make the small robot complete a task. They have even used textas and paper to make the Bee Bot draw. The students in Grade 3 should be very proud of the respect that they have shown to the equipment and to each other. It’s been wonderful to see them sharing and learning from their classmates.
