Dear Kyabram P-12 College community,

We hope this newsletter finds you well. In this edition, we are excited to highlight some remarkable events and achievements within our college. We want to express our gratitude to the students, staff, and parents for their active participation during Education Week. Furthermore, we would like to provide updates on the information evenings, the arrival of our new tractor, the successful Debutante Ball, Peter Walsh's visit to our Primary assembly, and celebrate the accomplishments of Seb, one of our Year 6 students.

Education Week (May 15th-19th): Celebrating Our Community of Learners

We would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to all the students, staff, and parents who made Education Week a resounding success. The week was a wonderful celebration of learning, collaboration, and creativity. From engaging classroom activities to captivating performances, our students demonstrated their passion for education. We are grateful for your unwavering support in making Education Week an enriching experience for all.

Information Evenings: Shaping the Future Together

During Education Week, we hosted a series of information evenings for families, providing valuable insights into our college for the upcoming year, 2024. These events offered parents and carers the opportunity to learn about our comprehensive curriculum, exceptional teaching staff, and the wide range of extracurricular activities available to our students. We were thrilled to see the enthusiastic attendance and active participation of families eager to be part of our school community.

New Tractor Arrival: Cultivating Agricultural Excellence

We are delighted to announce the arrival of our new tractor, made possible through the Agriculture Fund's four-year $50 million modernisation program. This state-of-the-art equipment will revolutionise agricultural education for our secondary students. The tractor will enable hands-on learning experiences, empowering our students with practical skills and knowledge essential for their future careers. We are grateful for the investment made to enhance our agricultural program and offer our heartfelt thanks to everyone involved in this initiative.

Debutante Ball: An Evening of Elegance and Memories

On Friday, 26 May, we came together to celebrate a magnificent Debutante ball. Our Year 11 students, accompanied by their families and close friends, showcased their grace and elegance on the dance floor. It was a night filled with joy, laughter, and cherished memories that will last a lifetime. We extend our gratitude to the organising committee, teachers, and students who dedicated their time and effort to create this magical evening.

Special Guest at Primary Assembly: Honouring Our Student Leaders

We were honoured to have Peter Walsh, the Party Leader of the National Party of Australia, join us at our Primary assembly.  Mr Walsh graciously presented our students who hold positions of responsibility across the college, recognising their outstanding leadership skills and contributions. We thank Mr Walsh for his presence and for inspiring our student leaders to continue making a positive impact on our college community.

Celebrating Seb's Achievement: Victorian State Football Team Finalist

We are thrilled to celebrate the accomplishment of Seb, a talented Year 6 student who has made it through to the final 60 for the Under 12 Victorian State Football Team (AFL). This is an outstanding achievement, reflecting Seb's dedication, skills, and passion for the sport. We commend him for his hard work and wish him the best as he continues his journey in the selection process. Well done, Seb!

Looking for Celebrations: Share Your Achievements

We are always on the lookout for more achievements and celebrations within our college community. If you or your child have accomplished something noteworthy recently, whether it be in academics, sports, arts, or community service, we would love to hear about it. Please reach out to our administration office to share your achievements, and we will gladly highlight them in our future newsletters.

Thank you once again to the students, staff, and parents for their incredible contributions and participation in these recent events. Your involvement is invaluable in shaping the positive and vibrant learning community we have at Kyabram P-12 College.

Wishing everyone a fulfilling and successful Term 2.
