From the Principal

Open Night

Last night's Education Week celebration was fantastic. Families actively participated in classroom activities and tours. Prospective parents praised our strong community spirit during the tour. The School Choir delivered a beautiful performance. I would like to express my gratitude to Mrs Bowen for her hard work in preparing the choir, and our devoted teachers for their dedication in planning engaging activities for families to enjoy.

National Walk Safely to School Day May 19

Tomorrow is National Walk Safely to School Day when all Primary School children will be encouraged to walk and commute safely to school. It is an opportunity for parents and carers of Primary School aged children to promote safe pedestrian behaviour. So join us walking safely to school. We are also lucky to have some members of the Doncaster Police join us. We will leave from Domeney, Dalry, or Drayton at 8:30 am.

I am looking forward to seeing you all walking to school.

Mother's Day Breakfast

The Mother's Day breakfast was a happy celebration dedicated to honouring the mothers in our community. The Arts Centre was beautifully arranged, and the presence of numerous fathers ensured that both the children and their mothers were looked after.

There was a delicious spread of food for the mothers to enjoy with their children. A lot of effort had been put into the event. We appreciate Mrs Beradini, the PA team, and the numerous dads who assisted in the organisation, serving and cleaning up after the event. Their dedicated efforts ensured that the celebration was a success.

Storytime

Join us at the library for our upcoming Storytime session on Monday, May 22. The theme is Rainbows, and we invite preschool children and their parents to bring colourful items. Everyone with preschool children is welcome to join us from 9 am.

Working Bee- Friday, May 26

The working bee will start at 4 pm working through to 6 pm. The majority of the work will be tidying our gardens and spreading mulch. No expertise is needed! Bring garden gloves and useful gardening tools to weed, prune and spread mulch. The Facilities Sub Committee are grateful for whatever time parents can spare. We will also have sausages for families who can stay until 6 pm. If you can help with cooking the sausages from about 5:30 pm, please contact bronwyn.garrity@education.vic.gov.au

We encourage everyone to take a moment to read about Foundation students' excursion to Chesterfield Farm. Please visit the From the Classroom page in this week's newsletter to read them.

Have a great week,

Ms Garrity (Acting Principal)
