Literacy Enrichment

Literacy in Action (LIA) is what we call our literacy focus across the College. We aim to enrich student literacy regardless of their starting point, or year level. 

We are continuing to work with Year 7 students on sentence structure, running small group workshops in ‘sprint-style’ mini-lessons that focus on the needs revealed in individual student writing. Across 7-12, we are looking at common comma errors and how to fix them, as well as building vocabulary knowledge. We know that success in academic subjects depends on the mastery of the way language is specifically used in individual subjects, and we are excited about our progress in this area.
