Live and Loud

Recently Mater Dei Catholic College had the opportunity to host "Live and Loud", a Musical showcase with performances including students from Years 7-12. The Performance Music Program included a 20 piece band, rock band, vocal ensemble and lead vocalists.

Led by Performance Music Coordinator Mr David Saxon, along with fellow Music Teacher, Mrs Rebecca Saxon, students worked exceptionally hard to fine tune their performances. 

The musical showcase highlighted the musicianship and enthusiasm of Mater Dei students involved in the Performance Music program at the College. It provided opportunities for students to excel in areas in which they have talent, skill and passion and is critical to the continued growth of music and performance at the College. 

It was wonderful to witness our students work collaboratively and create a truly spectacular event. 

Thank you to the support and expertise of the Lighting Technicians, Mr Connor Crawford and Mr Tom Dennis; also to our Sound Operator, Mr Cheyne Halloran. We appreciate your time and effort in giving Mater Dei students the opportunity to experience professional sound and lighting.

Thank you to our wonderful compares, College students Ivan Sokolov and Ellie Clarke. Ivan took the lead in writing the script and was an integral member of the creative team. 

Thank you also to Sam Culley for the design of logos, posters and technical support at the theatre.

Thank you to our staff for supporting student rehearsals and for coming to watch the show.
