Senior Boarding

Senior Girls

The senior girls were excited last week to be able to move into their rooms for next year.  As they still have lots of assignments due they are utilising their new spaces wisely.

With the warmer days the girls have been enjoying a swim, joining in with the Senior boys, before their study time. Thanks to  Mr Jody Siegwalt for taking them to the pool.

Last Wednesday the Senior girls joined in with all the boarding house to go on shopping leave for the first time since March.

For the past two weeks Tilly McCrone (MDCC) has been completing her Work Placement in the Rehabilitation ward at the Wagga Base Hospital. This is part of her Assistant in Nursing course she is undertaking at T.A.F.E.

Last Wednesday night the Senior girls joined the entire boarding house to celebrate our Christmas Dinner.  We all enjoyed a lovely meal, thanks to our Caterer Mr Dave Lugton and his team. After dinner Mr Siegwalt and the boarding co captains had organised a Christmas themed trivia night. Congratulations to Zoe Holland who won the best dressed senior girl.

Senior Boys

While the year has started to wind down for most year groups, the Year 11 (HSC 12 2021) boarders still have a heavy assessment load to complete, with a good work ethic and high levels of persistence on display from the boys.

Mikey Fenney, Billy Ward, Isaac Gray, Eli Williams, Bodean Tereva and Joseph Morton represented the KCC Rugby Union team in the Grand Final of the The Ramsay Cup Inter-school Rugby Union competition, where they were narrowly defeated by TRAC. Max Peterson represented MDCC in their third place finish. Well done to all boys on a great season.

The pool has provided a great refuge for the boarders during the hot weather.

The Mount Erin Boarding community enjoyed a Christmas Party on Wednesday evening, with the senior boys leading the way in their Christmas themed costumes. Well done to Mikey Fenney (Dodgy Santa) and Johnny Holz (Santa’s Helper) on their best dressed award.

As my time at Mt Erin Boarding comes to an end, I would like to sincerely thank all boarders and their families for the support I have received over the last six years. I have been proud to have been part of a welcoming, inclusive and supportive boarding environment with a strong sense of community.  Please accept my best wishes for the future.

Finally, I would like to wish all members of the Mount Erin Boarding Community an enjoyable Christmas.
