On a very wet Monday night a young Kildare Soccer Team competed in the Shipard Shield.

In the first game, the girls came up against Mt Austin High, winning 1-0 thanks to a well-taken goal from striker Elizabeth Dumpleton.

The second game was against a much older Kooringal High side. The team showed great character to fight back after conceding an early goal and levelling the score before half time. Grace Holaj made some vital saves in goal, but the team eventually lost 2-3.

The final game was played against the Christian College. Kildare fought hard in worsening conditions and won the game 2-0.

Congratulations to all the players involved. Special mention must go to Elizabeth Dumpleton for scoring 4 goals and Ella Barrell for her determined play in the midfield.
