Letters For Residents
Of The Haven
On Friday 12th June, Mrs Galvin delivered over 300 letters from our Year 7 and 8 RE students to Mr Ola Samuel at The Haven.
As a school response to the social distancing requirements placed on our communities during this unprecedented COVID 19 crisis, we asked our Stage 4 students to write a letter to one of the 153 residents of Wagga's aged care facility The Haven.
The students have been given some suggestions for topics to write about that will encourage a response from the residents, such as their families, their experiences of remote learning and social isolation and their favourite recreational activities.
This task is an opportunity for students to be involved in Christian Service and pray that their words will provide friendship and comfort in this time of isolation for older people who have not been able to see their loved ones. We hope that some of the residents decide to respond to their letter/s and some new intergenerational relationships will be formed within the Wagga Wagga community.
