Going for a bulls-eye

Archery is a popular sport choice offered this term. It is lead by Mr Molynox, who also enjoys the activity many weekends.

A huge thanks to Mr Molynox for taking these photos at school sport during Week 2.

Premier's Sporting Challenge

This year ASC has registered to participate in the NSW Premier’s Sporting Challenge. The purpose of the Challenge is to encourage students to participate in sport and physical activity to help lead a healthy lifestyle. The aim for our students is to accumulate at least 60 minutes of physical activity each day.

Over a ten-week period starting Week 3, all students will be monitoring physical activity levels during class time, at recess and lunch as well as during sport lessons. Any physical activity outside school hours will also count towards the Challenge award.

Students will be uploading their activity levels once a week in their CREW groups and may like to download the free PSC Tracker app for smart phones, to assist in recording and monitoring their physical activity levels. Those students who complete the Challenge will receive a personalised certificate (Diamond, Gold, Silver or Bronze) signed by the NSW Premier.

Physical activity is valued for its physical, social and emotional benefits and is an extremely important part of our everyday lives. It also helps young people to develop communication skills, confidence and resilience. We would like to invite families to support us in encouraging students’ healthy use of leisure time and to experience the joy of being active together.

If you would like to discuss any aspect of the Challenge, please contact Miss Kim Kelly in the PDHPE Staffroom who will be happy to answer any questions you may have.
