Connections and Wellbeing

Warm welcome to Anna Cooper

What is your current role at ASC?

I've been at ASC for just over a week as the Student Support Officer/Youth Outreach Worker! I'm looking forward to focusing on wellbeing and building connections with students.

What would be your dream destination over the holidays?

I love New Zealand - I would love to explore all the islands and learn more about the culture.

What would student be surprised to find out about you?

I love sports - playing and watching. I follow the NRL ... but my team isn't going so well right now, so we won't mention them! I have won the footy tipping competition for the past five years in my previous workplaces.

What is your favourite book to read?

I love reading and have varied tastes in what I read. Books I have enjoyed include:

  • The Girl with All the Gifts - M.R. Carey
  • All the Bright Places - Jennifer Niven
  • Everything Everything - Nicola Yoon

If you were a super-hero, what powers would you have?

The ability to alter time, whether it be to pause it or turn it back.

Beginning each day with breakfast

We all know how much better we feel after a good breakfast! Drop by the Canteen anytime after 8:20 am and before CREW each morning for free toast and a good start to the day!

We are also needing student volunteers to assist each morning -- please contact Ms Cooper if you would like to be involved.

HotChoc Fridays are on again!

This term we welcome back HotChoc Fridays!

Every Friday a group of students are invited to share a cup of hot chocolate and morning tea treats with Executive staff in the Common Room.

Students from each year level are nominated as an acknowledgement for significant effort, outstanding behaviour, or other stand-out achievements according to our core PBL expectations.

Congratulations to all our deserving students who have been included in this popular initiative.

Budding baristas

ASC is once again appreciating the waft and sounds of freshly brewing coffee, with the Coffee Cart operating during Period 2 and Recess on a Monday - Thursday schedule.

This programme provides an opportunity for students to learn various skills associated with coffee making, retailing, customer service and money management.

Operated with Rachel's friendly support, it's an initiative that is appreciated by both students and staff!
