Authentic and Meaningful Collaboration

Throw in some willing host teachers, Jamie from the 4Cs, the Learning Disposition Wheel, and three teachers wanting to learn about the process .... and what do you get? A recipe for authentic, meaningful collaboration!

Over the course of two days early in Term 3, Pete Harris, Tammy Cameron, and Bec Partidge were involved in an intensive masterclass led by Jamie from ASC's academic partnership with 4C Transformative Learning to explore the facilitation of CCV (Collaborative Classroom Visits).

We were generously allowed to visit the classrooms of four 'host' teachers - Dave Partridge, Tammy Cameron, Tobie White and Andrew Curry  - to notice the learners in each room. The beauty of CCV is that the discussion after the visit is immediate; focused intensely on the observations of the host teacher and the visitors. Through a Deep Noticing and Questioning process, the talk is directed through the lens of the Learning Disposition Wheel. It focuses on what was noticed about the learners in the room, which allows for a detailed interrogation of the behaviours, actions and learning of students.

The process concluded with a commitment to an action from the host teacher and the visiting teachers, which highlights the mutually beneficial nature of the learning for teachers gained through the process.

The CCV process is extremely positive and showcases what true, authentic collaboration looks like with the sense of a shared endeavour.
