Welcome back to Term 3. Almost 2 weeks gone already and all campuses have now settled back into routine. It has been a busy two weeks making sure that any subject changes are made quickly and efficiently to ensure that this is the case.

Work on the new campus in Hawdon Street is moving ahead at a rapid pace and the walls of several of the buildings are now visible. The number of new buildings on the site seem to be increasing on a daily basis and at this stage we are ahead of schedule for completion in late 2021.

Activities on each of the campuses are also increasing on a daily basis. Students have been working on the production of a presentation on Respect (one of our school values). The presentation/video will be available on our school website in the near future and will be a component of our Learning Mentor curriculum.

As Covid-19 restrictions have gradually lifted we have been able to welcome Lighthouse back onto our campuses. The Lighthouse organisation has greatly assisted us already this term with a sports program at the Mooroopna campus each Wednesday and “Take pART” an arts based program at the McGuire Campus on Wednesdays and Fridays.

We have been extremely fortunate to welcome Shepparton Indigenous artist, Tom Day, who has been commissioned to paint a reconciliation artwork for the Victorian Parliament. Tom will be creating the artwork at the Mooroopna Campus over the next few months. He will be working with Darryl McConnell and students from the media class to document the journey in photo and video from beginning to end. This is an exciting project and we look forward to seeing the final product.
