K-6 Sport

Infants Cross country

Congratulations to all our K-2 students who participated in the Infants Cross Country on Friday. All students had been training hard with their teachers over the last few weeks and loved getting out and running in front of families and friends. Thank you to those people who were able to join us for a sausage sizzle after the event. First 3 results in each year group were as follows:

Year 2: 1st Zach Andrews & KJ Ehsman, 2nd Jack Oakes & Harper Swadling, 3rd Hunter Will & Ayda Murphy

Year 1: 1st Kaleb Holder & Harlow Lea, 2nd Charlie Schwark & Zahli Wemyss-Colley, 3rd Landon Sutherland & Peyton Te Velde

Kindergarten: 1st Flynn Simpson & Indi Forsyth, Bronx Simpson & Zara Caskey, William Irwin & Annabelle Apthorpe

 

Open Rugby Union

Congratulations to the Opens Rugby Union side who participated in the Diocesan Rugby Knockout and selection trials yesterday in Tamworth. They won 4 games and drew one, which means they were overall champions on the day and are now off to Sydney on the 16 August. Jaxon Taber, Dustin Taber, Heath Watchirs, Jock Craddock , Dan Bell, Flynn Brien-Ellis and Locky McLennan all made the Armidale Diocesan side and will travel to Forbes at the end of this term. The students had a great day. A big thank you to Mr Tom Taber for coaching and training the team over the last few weeks and to Mrs Lane for managing.

 

Kindergarten King Fit 

Due to the ‘Stop Work meeting’ this Friday, King Fit will not go ahead. It will continue next week, Friday 3 June. Please remember to send in $3 with your child. 

 

Year 3-6 Sport - Term 2

Students from Year 3-6 will be participating in athletics rotations over the next few weeks, in preparation for the upcoming Athletics Carnival at the end of term.

 

2022 Primary Sporting Dates

  • Polding Cross Country, Eastern Creek 7 June
  • Infants Athletics, school oval 17 June
  • Diocesan Cricket Trials, Tamworth 17 June
  • Year 3-6 Field Event finals, school oval 24 June
  • Year 3-10 Athletics Carnival, Complex 30 June

Secondary Sport

School Sport

Students will continue to participate in one of the following winter sports this term: rugby league, soccer, netball, league tag, basketball, tennis ($2.00). 

 

Bill Turner Cup

Commiserations to the boys soccer team who were defeated by Guyra in Round 2 of the Bill Turner Cup last week. The boys played a great game and were beaten in extra time by 1 goal.

 

Netball

Good luck to all 7-10 Boys and Girls netball players, who will compete at the Netball NSW Cup day in Inverell during week 6.

 

Cross Country

Good luck to selected 7-10 Boys and Girls long distance runners, who will travel to Sydney to compete in the NSWCCC Cross Country on Tuesday week 7.
