PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE
Mrs Jillian Rainger

This week we celebrate Catholic Schools Week. On Wednesday we are joining together as a whole school for prayer, reading a story together (with the rest of Australia) and having morning tea. Families are welcome to join us. Our Catholic faith underpins all that we do at Holy Trinity. We strive to fulfil our mission statement of creating confident learners to "live life to the full" by encouraging our students to be safe, to value, care and respect themselves and others and to participate fully in their learning. All our staff work hard to make our school a welcoming place for students and families. Thank you for sending your children to our school. They are great people who really try their best every day.
A written letter regarding the Industrial Action on Friday has been sent home today. Please understand that Holy Trinity will not be operating as normal on Friday and only minimal supervision will be available for students.
... To our Year 3, 5, 7 and 9 students who completed NAPLAN over the last two weeks ... their commitment to doing their best was very evident
... To 2M and 4G for their preparation and celebration of their liturgies at Sacred Heart Church...thank you to the families who joined us for these celebrations of our faith
... To our K-2 students who ran in the Cross Country last Friday
... To our classes and groups who performed at the Eisteddfod in Dance, Verse Speaking and Choir
... To our Senior Primary Rugby Union side who played at the Diocesan carnival yesterday and won the day!
... To our secondary boys soccer team who played gallantly in the next round of the Bill Turner Cup
... to our Year 6 who are being confirmed in their faith by Bishop Michael on Sunday
... to our Secondary Chess team who play in Moree tomorrow
As you may have seen we had some job advertisements for teachers posted. Like all schools we have a short supply of casual teachers who can work when staff members are on leave. We have been working hard to make sure learning is not interuppted and classes where possible continue as normal. Mr Gils has been on leave and will remain on leave until the end of term. We have been fortunate to have Mr Matthew Pye filling in for Mr Gils during his absence. We are fortunate that our casual staff are dedicated to our school and students - Mrs Carrigan, Mrs Murphy, Mrs Watchirs, Mrs Daley, Mrs Zell all work to support our school.
On Tuesday 31 May we will be celebrating National Reconciliation Week by "walking for Reconciliation." National Reconciliation Week—27 May to 3 June—is a time for all Australians to learn about our shared histories, cultures, and achievements, and to explore how each of us can contribute to achieving reconciliation in Australia. All students K-10 are encouraged to wear red, yellow and black and we will begin the day with a walk around the oval to show our support.
It is hard to believe that we are at the time of year where we start thinking of the next year!
We are holding two open events for families looking to send their children to our school in Kindergarten, Year 7 or other years in 2023.
Please spread the word if you know of any families interested. Enrolment packages for 2023 can be collected at these events or from Cathy in the Front Office from next Tuesday. Please see the flyer attached for dates and times.
From Wednesday 1 June all students are to be in our full school winter uniform. Many students are already wearing it and look really smart. Thank you to our families for your commitment to the wearing of our uniform.
In the Front Office we currently have on display a sample of the proposed skort and blouse for girls to wear in summer. Pop in and have a look. Any feedback would be appreciated.
A reminder that the last day of this term is a Pupil Free Day. The staff will be involved in a retreat on this day.
