What has our term two looked like so far at BBPS?
We have had the privilege of attending two fabulous parent information sessions over the last couple of weeks. Andrew Fuller’s ‘The Big Six’ was an intriguing insight into how we can support our students to work on their memory and focus on their learning strengths. The Resilience Project also shared some powerful data and practical tips to support our young people in terms of gratitude, empathy and mindfulness in relation to our technology-filled world. Here is the link to a recording from TRP if couldn’t make it: RECORDING LINK HERE. Please note, this link will expire at midnight on 24th May.
We are loving being able to be out and about, connecting with our community.
Our wonderful Prep and Year One students headed off on their very first excursion to the Melbourne Aquarium on Tuesday! They have been delving into the wonderful world of sealife, their habitats and conservation through their inquiry unit this term. We can’t wait to see what they found out and what was the best part of their excursion.
The Three Four Hub hosted a fascinating incursion, focusing on Native Australian Animals, their habitats and the impacts of global warming and climate change. Students learnt more about what role each animal has within our environment and what we can do to help protect them.
We have had some lovely little visitors from St Peter’s Kindergarten, who joined us for a play on our nice new resurfaced play areas and visited our beautiful new library. And some of our Grade 6 Leaders reciprocated with a visit and facilitation of PMP at the kinder today. This is the first in a series of sessions to support student transition and build connections in our community.
Our BBPS production rehearsals are well underway. Sally Wickes and all classes have started to master their newly learnt lyrics and dance moves. The big performance takes place early term 3, stay tuned for more later this term. Production is on Wednesday, 27th July.
Big thanks to the PA for organising our celebration pizza parties for 1B and 4B, this year's egg collecting extraordinaire-s for our Easter Raffle.
