Year 9 students at the Alliance Française French Film Festival

On the 28th of March the Year 9 French classes went on an excursion to the Kino cinemas in the CBD to celebrate the ‘French Film Festival week’. In the morning students gathered outside the library deck where we were marked on the role and handed a macaron, a traditional little dessert which looks like a biscuit. After that the teachers took us across to Bridge Rd. to take the tram up to the city. Taking transport with your friends for a school excursion is fun and I’m glad we did it this way. When we got off the tram we walked for a bit and soon rather than later we were there, ready to watch ‘Le Petit Nicholas’ which was the third movie to a series (some students had already watched the previous two films in class). The movie was great. This term’s unit on ‘The house and home’ helped us with understanding the film more. The vocabulary we had learnt on furniture and rooms in a home helped us understand certain parts of the film better. I think watching the film reflected on our understanding on this term’s unit, I’m confident to say I’m sure most people had a good understanding of the film. We were really lucky to have this experience as a class to strengthen our French.
