From the Principal

Week 2 Term 2 2022

Dear Parents and Carers

From Monday to Wednesday of this week I had the pleasure of attending the first Yr 3/4 camp at Mt Evelyn. The three days were jam packed with a variety of activities. Some of these included the flying fox, high ropes, crate stacking, bike riding as well as the talent show.

For many of our students this was their first time experiencing a camp and for some the first time they have slept away from home or from a family members home.

Everyone was  amazing!!!!!!  As parents you should be extremely proud of them. The activities such as the giant swing and high ropes placed many outside their comfort zone, including the teachers, but  it was so pleasing to see all students attempt the challenging activities.  As individuals we grow  when we are placed outside our comfort zone and are required to experience new learning opportunities. I hope your child has told you about the many wonderful things that happened on camp.

Disco

Thank you to the parents and friends association who organised a wonderful disco last Thursday. All the children who attended thoroughly enjoyed the experience.  There was close to 200 students in attendance over the two sessions.  Also  a big thank you to the many parents who assisted on the night.

Sickness.

Currently the flu is going through the school ( like most schools). If your child is sick I do ask that you keep them at home.

Naplan

All Naplan testing for Yrs 3 and 5 is now complete. We will provide all parents with your child's results once we receive them.  Our teachers  helped our students understand the test format and explained the processes. They also helped students manage their concerns, work through frustrations and to feel confident that they tried their best.

Also thank you to Larissa Boyhan for the co- ordination of all the tests.

Pupil Free Day

Just a reminder that May 30th is a Pupil Free Day. The staff will be involved in professional learning around "inquiry"

Have a great week
