                                        Mercy Prayer

We pray for the Sisters of Mercy, who established our school and for the priests who have served at

St. Mary’s.  It is through their vision,  determination and strong faith that we enjoy the benefits of a

                                                                   Catholic Education here in Mooroopna.

We are proud to be a Mercy School, where the values of love and justice are taught and lived every day.

Mothers Day Prayer

Thank you to Mrs Lee for the beautiful Mothers Day display in the School Office Foyer.

Mother's Day Prayer Service

Mothers Day in 2020, although a little different to previous years, still remains a day to celebrate Mothers and those like Mothers in our lives. We would like to take this opportunity to extend our blessings and prayers to all our Mum's, Grandmums, those like Mums and those no longer with us, for a very Happy Mother's Day on Sunday.

St Mary's traditionally, holds a beautiful Mother's Day Prayer service for all our families to share, to give thanks for Mothers and to appreciate all they do and their wonderful attributes.  We have included one of our favorite songs and Lyrics we enjoy as part of our Mother's Day Mass and the Catholic Education Prayer Service for you to enjoy.

Project Compassion 2020 - Thank you!

Lent has come to an end and normally Project Compassion 2020 would as well. Whilst facing our own challenges we are also putting our social justice principles into top gear this year by extending Project Compassion. We had an amazing response to our appeal prior to the holidays and have already raised over $500.  If you are learning remotely from home and still have a personal Project Compassion box you can simply drop it at the front office desk or alternatively keep it until you return to school.

In light of the Covid-19 pandemic we thank you for your continued support of Project Compassion.  There are many communities around the world, that don't have access to clean water and soap to follow and maintain basic hygiene to stop the spread of Coronavirus. We humbly say thanks for your support to help high risk communities globally so we can all Go Further, Together.

Sacraments update -

Baptism - The parent information meeting for the Sacrament of Baptism at St. Mary’s has been postponed and baptisms have been suspended except in special cases or those of an emergency.

Families will be notified via our newsletter when a new date has been set for the parent  meeting and anyone who had contacted Mrs Lee about Baptism will be contacted personally.

Reconciliation -  A message for the children who completed their preparation for Reconciliation at the end of Term One.  Hopefully you completed all of the activities in your ‘Steps in Faith’ booklet and put it away safely at home so that it can be handed into Monsignor Peter once the restrictions are lifted.  We are unable to give a date for the Ceremony of Reconciliation but this will be able to go ahead very shortly after the Diocese of Sandhurst gives us permission to hold these ceremonies in the church.  We will keep you posted !!

Eucharist -  Children who were planning to make their first Eucharist this year should be able to start the home program as planned towards the end of Term Two, as it does not involve any group meetings other than work in  your own home.  Further updates to come.

Confirmation – This Sacrament is still planned for Grade Six in Term Four but this will now be dependent on the availability of the Bishop and the lifting of restrictions.

An update on all preparations for Sacraments will be posted in our Newsletter once any decisions have been made.
