A message from our Principal

Dear Parents,
We welcomed 77 new Kinder children and their parents to Bathurst Public School last Friday 1st February. The children had a wonderful day and were thrilled to meet their new Stage 3 buddies. We are sure that they will enjoy being a part of our wonderful school community.
Congratulations to our 2019 Leadership Team who were inducted into the positions yesterday. A beautiful ceremony where parents pinned the children with their new badges was held in front of the entire school. We know our leadership team will do a wonderful job this year and look forward to working with them in their new positions.

Our School Photos will be taken on Tuesday 26th February. We will be using Advanced School Photography. Envelopes for school photos will be sent home tomorrow with the children.
Infants (Kindergarten, Year 1 and Year 2) and Primary (3, 4, 5 and 6) Assemblies will be held in weeks 4 and 9 this term. The first Infants Assembly will be held on Wednesday 20th February at 12.20pm and the first Primary Assembly will be held on Wednesday 20th February at 2.10pm in the McMullen Hall. All parents and friends are very welcome to join us to celebrate our accomplishments.
As a staff we continue to modify our Assessment and Reporting practices so we can ensure parents obtain feedback each term on their child’s progress from their child’s classroom teacher. At anytime, if parents have any concerns or issues about your child’s learning, you are encouraged to contact the school to make an appointment to speak with your child’s classroom teacher. The Assessment and Reporting schedule for 2019 is:
- Term 1 Week 4 – Thursday 21st February-Friday 22nd February – Support Unit Parent/Teacher Interviews
- Term 1 Week 6 - Monday 4th March -Friday 8th March – Parent/Teacher Interviews
- Term 2 Week 9 – Semester 1 Reports home
- Term 3 – Parent/Teacher Interviews
- Term 4 - Semester 2 Reports home
Parent/Teacher Interviews have been organised for Thursday 21st February - Friday 22nd February for the Support Unit and Monday 4th March - Monday 8th March for all other classes. These meetings will allow parents to meet teachers, talk about what is to be taught this year and how your child has settled into the 2019 school year, plans for the school year, class expectations and parent expectations. Parents will be able to book Interview times via the Parent portal or notes for these meetings will be sent home next week. Parents are encouraged to return these notes indicating a time preference to your child’s classroom teacher as soon as possible or going on to the Parent Portal and requesting your interview time.
Our School Newsletter will now be uploaded every Thursday so all parents receive information at the same time. Please refer to our website to download the weekly newsletter.
If any parent has any concerns regarding any aspect of school life, please do not hesitate to contact me.
