Wantirna College Cross Country 2017

On Wednesday 10th May on a beautiful sunny Autumn day, the College held our annual Cross Country Carnival.

 

Attendance and participation was at an all-time high, with students showing great determination to finish their race regardless of their fitness level. Well done to all students and teachers for finishing either the 3km and 5km run in the local area. The top fifteen students from each age group will go on to represent the College at Division level, which will be on Monday 22nd May at Kings Park in Upper Ferntree Gully.

These students, along with the top 15 placegetters, will be competing for the Wantirna Cross Country team at Division level against other schools such as Upwey, Rowville and Fairhills on Monday 22nd May. We wish them good luck!

 

Additional Sport Information

Congratulations must also go to the following teams for making it through to the next round (Eastern Metropolitan Region). These teams will be competing at EMR at some stage in Term 3 & 4.

  1. A reminder to all parents and students that the Athletics carnival is coming up in Term 3 (Tuesday 15th August). Consent for the Athletics Carnival will be required via Compass later this term. Stay tuned for more information.
  2. Any student participating in Football, Hockey and Basketball are reminded that mouth guards are highly recommended during all competitive games.
  3. Term 3 sign-ups for sport will be available for all students at the end of this term via Compass. If students do not sign up online, they may be ineligible for team selection. Sports on offer for Term 3 are: Basketball, Athletics and Table Tennis. Students can sign up for as many sports as they want, as long as they are played on different days.

Can I also please remind all parents and students of the following:

  • All students must provide written or electronic consent and payment via Compass strictly 2 days prior to the event to be eligible to play.
  • Students must attend all sports events in full Wantirna PE uniform (unless stated otherwise on the consent form).
