MIDDLE YEARS FAMILY EVENING

As a college, we are always striving to empower all members of our community.  With the continual development of social media and other online platforms, understanding how to be cyber safe is more important than ever.  As a result, we have engaged the services of Kelly McAuliffe to facilitate an information evening on cyberbullying and online safety.  Kelly is a specialist in internet safety and education who has a law enforcement background.

The evening will focus on providing strategies of protection and prevention to empower parents and students to reduce online risks within the home, as well as, promote some discussion around online safety between parents, teachers and students.

The evening starts at runs from 6 – 8pm on Monday 29th May in the theatre.  For bookings please use Trybooking (at no charge), using the link below.  Bookings close on 28/5/2017.

PERSONAL BEST

The Personal Best Program is one of the biggest programs of the year.  This is a program that students always remember as a highlight of their time at the college.  This program allows students, to work in conjunction with a self-elected coach, to achieve their ‘personal best’ on a project that they are passionate about.  It engages students to set goals, develop resilience and take structured risks.

The launch day for Personal Best is Wednesday 24th May.  Students will have a special assembly in the theatre during period 2, in which they will learn about the program and hear from previous students about their previous projects. A barbeque lunch and a range of activities in mentor group have been developed to support them beginning their projects.
