Introducing Edrolo
With exam time rushing up fast our senior students are focusing heavily on their study. To assist them we are taking part in an eight week trial of the VCE revision program Edrolo.
Edrolo is an online program that provides VCE students with an extensive array of tools to support them in their revision. These tools include:
- Short video clips where key concepts are explained by expert teachers, each video has practice exam questions they attempt which are then unpacked.
- Quizzes relating to the content in each clip. Depending of the type of question the quizzes are either self marking or have a clear marking guide to allow students to assess themselves.
- Summary Notes covering the key information for each topic
- Practice exams
This is a powerful revision tool that allows students access to key information when and where they choose to study. It covers a wide range of subjects in Year 11 and 12 including:
- Accounting
- Biology
- Business Management
- Chemistry
- English Year 12 only
- General / Further Mathematics
- Health and Human Development
- History: Revolutions
- Legal Studies
- Mathematical Methods (CAS)
- Physical Education
- Physics
- Psychology
- Studio Arts Year 12 only
- Visual Communication Design Year 12 only
The Year 11 and 12 students were shown the program in their assemblies on Tuesday and have each been provided with access to the program until the end of the first week of term 3.
We will be measuring the success of the trial by tracking the number of times that clips are viewed and student and teacher feedback. Should the trial be successful we will continue it into Semester 2.
A large number of students have logged on and already started using the program. Both teachers and students are very excited about this as a resource. Have your child log and on show you what it is all about and we are sure you will be to.

Teaching and Learning
Leadership Opportunity for Year 8 students.
We are very excited to be planning an application for a team of students to participate in the School for Student Leadership in 2018. This is a significant leadership opportunity for students who are currently in Year 8 to be involved in an extensive leadership program.
The School for Student Leadership is run by the Department of Education in Victoria and offers an extended residential leadership program for students in Year 9. The program involves students living on campus at one of the following sites:
Alpine School Campus at Dinner Plain
Snowy River Campus in Marlo, East Gippsland
Gnurad-Gundid adjacent to Mount Noorat near Camperdown.
The program goes for a full school term. During this time students have a curriculum that focuses on personal development and team learning projects that relate back to the student's home regions.
To subsidise the cost of the program students undertake a range of fundraising activities which also contributes to the development of their leadership.
Last year we had a team of Year 9 students who took part in the program. They had an awesome experience that really assisted them in their development. The project they worked on was related to assisting the transition of the Grade 6 students into Year 7. Their project was successful and contributed to the smooth transition students made to high school this year.
"We were a part of the School for Student Leadership and attended the Snowy River Campus in 2016. The learning and overall experience that we had was life changing. Learning and developing leadership, team work, communication and self-management through activities such as LLP Day, a day where we educated students from a local primary school were all part of the program. Our CLP, in which we supported Grade 6's with their transition, and many classes on problem solving, helped us as an individual learner and our team work." - Chloe Heale and Tahlia Umi
