Parent Information Session: Knox Youth Services

 

Knox City Council Youth Services offer regular free Parent Information Forums/Workshops.

 

The next session is Thriving and Surviving VCE which will be held on Thursday 1 June, 2017 from 7 - 9pm at Knox City Council Civic Centre Room 3, 511 Burwood Hwy, Wantirna South

 

Guest speaker, Julia Russell, Parent Educator & Group Facilitator, Parentzone Eastern will be presenting and providing strategies to:

  • assist parents to stay connected through the often difficult time of VCE, balancing study and life;
  • offer support to their teens to help them problem solve and resolve conflict; and
  • develop tools to support parents and the family.

National Sorry Day: Knox City Council

 

National Sorry Day gives people an opportunity to come together, acknowledge and progress healing for the Stolen Generations.

 

Knox City Council will be hosting a National Sorry Day event on Friday 26 May 2017 @ 10:30am Knox Civic Centre, 511 Burwood Hwy, Wantirna South, 3152.  Please join Council for the raising of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Flags in recognition of Sorry Day and Reconciliation Week. There will also be a traditional Welcome to Country and Smoking Ceremony, followed by morning tea.

Calling all artists- Immerse Expressions of Interest Now Open: Knox City Council

 

Immerse is an exhibition that defies the traditional confines of an art gallery. It dares you to find and experience art in a whole new way. Covering over 100km2, artists will exhibit in 30 venues exhibit for 30 days. It’s a conversation with an audience of thousands. Immerse is a chance for you to engage with the world through your lens, and for the world to engage with your work through theirs. 

 

Knox City Council are looking for artists and art groups from across Melbourne and from within Knox to show their work at 30 venues for 30 days from 11 November through to 11 December 2017.

 

 

$5,000 in prize money will be awarded at the end of the exhibition in 4 categories, including a $1000 Young Artists Award.

 

Artist Expressions of Interest close 5pm Thursday 1 June 2017.

Post-School Transition EXPO: Eastern Ranges School

 

Eastern Ranges School will be hosting an upcoming Transition Expo on Thursday 1 June, 2017 from 1.30pm – 4.30pm in their Multi-Purpose Room / Pathways Café 56 Dorset Road, Ferntree Gully (Enter via Gate 2, Alma Avenue).

 

Come along and explore post-school options for young people with a disability.
