Boarding

This week two new staff members have joined our wonderful boarding staff. After a thorough application process I was delighted to appoint Gabbi Bensch and Jess Hirst, and I’m confident that they will be very valuable additions to our boarding community. If you don’t already know Gabbi and Jess please take a minute to say hello next time you are visiting.
A big contingent of boarders headed to Mortlake on Tuesday as part of the Senior Football Team to play Cobden in the Regional Final. Unfortunately, they went down narrowly but had an amazing ‘feed’ at the Mortlake Servo so everyone returned happy. Even though Tom Verco thought he deserved Best on Ground, this was awarded to another great young footballer, Seth Fiegert.
It was fantastic to see an article in the Spectator this week recognising Rohan Madan’s efforts in gaining a highly sought after cadetship with Sharp Airlines. Rohan is passionate and dedicated to all that he does and is a talented young pilot. It is exciting to see his career really taking off!
Boarders were heavily involved in both the ICCES Cross Country and Junior and Senior Debating this week. All debaters represented the College with pride and Tim Gilling was awarded Best Speaker. There were also some great results in Cross Country including the following:
Grace Austin – 13th
Hannah Russell – 6th
Emily Johnston – 7th
Phoebe Sweeney – 9th
On Wednesday night we welcomed the staff and six students from the Gaoyou delegation who will be staying with us. It is a great opportunity to meet these students but also to repay the amazing hospitality that many of the boarders received in Gaoyou during their China Experience.
I hope everyone enjoys their Sheepvention long weekend. The boarding house will be open for anyone who would like to stay. On Sunday there is a whale watching trip in Warrnambool organised for the Gaoyou students and for any other boarder staying in
