OSHClub

Our term at OSHC!

Wow, what an amazingly weird and wonderful term it has been! We’ve been get up to lots this term, here’s a few things the children have loved:

This term we started our very own pen pal program with the student’s of St Paul’s Primary School OSHClub. It has been great to see so many children getting involved with the program, whilst building their literacy and language skills as well as building a sense of connection within our wider community!

The children of OSHClub have also been involved in the creation of our own cookbook. Each week during our Junior Masterchef Club, the student’s have brought in their favourite home recipe and have loved cooking up a storm! We will be using these recipes to create a cookbook at the end of the year, which will be sold in the community to raise funds in the Smith Family’s Christmas donation drive. If you have a recipe you’d like to bring in next term to cook at OSHC, please feel free. Watch this space!

Although there were no dawn services this year, the students of St James OSHClub made a beautiful ANZAC garden commemoration in the playground. It was amazing to see the children working together to write a lovely prayer and take some time to reflect.

For Mother’s day, the children had so much fun making some gorgeous gifts for some very special women in their lives. Getting creative, the student’s made coffee body scrub and some yummy muffins for Mum!

Also this term, the students have been participating in the Premier’s reading challenge! It has been wonderful to see so many great readers in OSHClub and every single one of our Oshies should be so proud of their efforts. As a group, they have read over 100 books! Congratulations to everyone involved.

Lastly, it was so exciting to see so many smiling faces back at school on our Pupil Free Days! We had an amazing time dressing up for our Fairytale Fantasy and Back to School Party themes...and so did our educators! We made biscuits, built cork castles, created newspaper costumes and went on scavenger hunts. But most importantly, the children had the best time with their friends again!

Do you have any recycled materials we could use at OSHClub?

As part of our initiative to embed more sustainable practices within our program, we would love it if you could bring any recyclable materials that the children could repurpose into some awesome craft inventions! Things like toilet rolls, jars, boxes or even newspaper would be fantastic!

OSHClub Class Dojo

If you have a child who attends OSHClub, please take a moment to sign up to our Class Dojo. Through the application parents can view how their child is behaving and also peep a view at the fun things we get up to!
