JUNIOR SCHOOL VIRTUAL CHALLENGES

Virtual challenges are the new norm at the moment, and it's been great to see so many of our students getting involved in them over the course of our remote learning.

We recently undertook the McKinnon "Going the distance" Challenge, using Strava. Students joined up with their form via strava clubs to compete.

The challenge was to see just how far their form could travel over the allotted two week period. This saw all forms from Years 7 to 9 going head to head. Although greater restrictions on outdoor activities made this a bit more challenging, many students used their hour of outside activity to full advantage lapping up the recent sunshine that we have had, whilst others thought outside the box and took to indoor bike training.

Overall, we had one winning form from each year level, with some very impressive distances clocked over the challenge!

Year 7 - 7I with 599.49 Kilometres

Year 8 - 8G with 568.93 Kilometres

Year 9 - 9L with 1244.71 Kilometres

Congratulations to the winners, they will be treated with a pizza lunch on return to school during Term 4. Keep your eyes peeled for McKinnon's next virtual challenge.
