HASS

This term the Year 1 classes have been learning about natural, managed, and built features of our environment. They love using Google Earth to pick out the places they recognise. They recently enjoyed working together to create their own class ‘city’.

Year 2 students in Room 19 have been learning about the continents and oceans of the world. They had lots of fun completing the world map jigsaw in record time after they had finished cutting out and naming the continents to make their own world map.

Year 4 students in Room 21 have been studying the natural wonders of Australia and have created Mind-maps detailing the location, physical features, climate, vegetation, and animals of Uluṟu, The Blue Mountains, The Great Barrier Reef, The Twelve Apostles, The Great Victoria Desert, The Daintree Forest, and Kakadu

Digital Technologies

Year 1 students have been learning how to use the Pages app on iPads to name their documents and insert images. They can enlarge and reduce the images, move them, and change their colour, and they have also learned how to use the drawing tool, and how to record their voices. They put all of these skills together to retell the story of Tiddalik the Frog with some very creative results.

Year 2 students have been learning about digital systems and the various hardware and software components of these systems. They have been honing their photography skills, recently taking photos around the school to create a collage of images.
