Youth Insearch

Youth Insearch is a peer driven program that empowers young people between the ages of 14 and 20, providing individualised support, and encourages young people to reach their full potential.

Main components of the Youth Insearch Program1.Weekend Workshops (Friday-Sunday) Weekend Workshops are a 48-hour intensive program, involving highly structured therapeutic group work processes. Sessions include communication, self-esteem, trust, parent & adolescent relationships, sexual abuse, grief and loss, drug & alcohol and conflict resolution. Youth leaders discuss current issues facing teens and participants get to experience being a part of a loving family over the weekend and are involved in activities that strengthen friendships and relationships and builds their self-esteem. Youth Leaders facilitate most of the weekend program, providing peer to peer support, Youth Leaders have been through the program and have participated in the Intensive Leadership Program. A clinical psychologist attends and participates in all aspects of the Weekend Workshops and there are also Adult Leaders and Support Adults for further support over the weekend.

 2. Weekly Support Group (weeknights)

Support Groups are held weekly and go for an hour, they are an opportunity to check in, set goals and receiving consistent support. To attend a support meeting a young person MUST have attended a weekend workshop. This is a vital part of the Youth Insearch Program.

Cost to attend Weekend Workshops

  • The fee for a young person under the care of a government department is $340.00
  • The fee for a young person paying for themselves is $140.00 and includes those referred by not-for-profit organisations

3. Case Management

With the roll out of the Place Based Model, Youth Insearch is embedding the program into communities by working in partnership with key community agencies and schools. Social Workers and Youth Workers offer individual care and support for young people through case management. Young people have the opportunity to have a care plan, designed specifically to meet their individual needs.

4. Virtual Operations

Through the challenges of 2020, Youth Insearch was determined to continue to support young people at risk. Virtual support is available for those that cannot attend face to face support groups and will be dependant upon the young persons location and individual needs.
