Wear It Purple Day

Last Friday (26th August), we celebrated Wear It Purple Day, and what a success it was!

We would really like to thank everyone for getting into the spirit of the day. Especially those who participated in the flag flying. The day was organised by our Student Leadership Team and Diversity Captains, Bean Webster and Jye Missen, who ran a stall during lunchtime to encourage students to share what they have learnt about the purpose and origins of Wear It Purple Day.

During L2L classes the day before, all students learnt about the origins and purpose of Wear It Purple Day, what it means to be an ally and identified ways that they would be more supportive and inclusive of everyone at MSC. This lesson and Kahoot was designed by Student Leaders. Students in years 10, 11 and 12 wrote a pledge for how they will be more supportive and inclusive of everyone and the pledges are displayed in the study centre.

It is really important to recognise and respect everyone in our community and build a stronger culture for the future. Days like these are a part of this. It’s also a part of our leadership goal of improving connectedness amongst fellow peers within our school.
