School News

Marni Naa Pudni

It is hard to believe that it is week 8. The term, to this point, has gone extremely quick and as you would be aware has been very busy.  With this in mind students and staff are looking forward to a well-deserved holiday break as our continuous focus on growth and improvement is challenging work.

As Principal of this wonderful school, I always enjoy stepping back and admiring the exceptional teaching and learning that occurs in every learning space.  Our students and staff have a relentless approach to improving and taking the next steps which lead to growth. This is what we are aiming for!!

NAPLAN

We have been advised that will be receiving NAPLAN printed packs in the near future. Once we receive the packs they will be distributed to families in due course.

Class Placement 2023

In the first few weeks of Term 4, the process to place students into classes for 2023 will begin.

Classes are formed according to:

  • The number of students at each year level
  • The Education Department’s recommended teacher-to-student ratio as per the funding model
  • Staff knowledge about students' educational needs
  • Information provided by parents that address the LNPS Class Placement Guidelines (please see attached)

Class Placement Guidelines-COMMUNITY.pdf

If parents wish to provide further educational information to support this process, please use the LNPS Class Placement Guidelines. Information or requests that do not meet the criteria outlined in the guidelines will not be taken into consideration.

Goal Setting and Learning Conferences

Students, parents/caregivers and teachers completed another highly successful round of Goal Setting and Learning Conferences. It is exciting to speak with students and families about the growth that is happening related to goal setting.

As part of our approach to continually refine our practices, we request that families complete this short feedback survey.  Your input will further support our planning and refinement of approaches.

Week 10 - Australian Educational Leadership Conference

In week 10 Mirjana and I will be attending the national Educational Leadership Conference. As leaders, we see the need to further develop our skills and knowledge, inquiring into ‘What does educational leadership need now and into the future?’

'Inspire Hope, Leading our Future’ is the focus and theme for this conference. The conference sub-themes and workshops focus on areas that Mirjana and I will be honing in on will include:

  • Recovering our people
  • Redesigning for inclusion and equity
  • Repositioning school leadership
  • Reclaiming learning
  • Reshaping the future of schooling

We are really excited about further developing our knowledge in areas that are essential to further school improvement. We will be at the conference from Wednesday to Friday and Nik will be Acting Principal.
