WELC Report
Ms Debby Morgan
We welcome all our students back for the final term of 2022. This term promises to be very busy with lots of extracurricular activities and some transition activities for the students who will exit at the end of the term.
We welcome 17 new students who have joined our Language Centre this term. We encourage all students to do their best and put in a lot of effort so they can make a big improvement in their English before they move to mainstream schooling.
This term, students are doing 4 different electives – Sport, Cooking, Art and Drama. Students in cooking have been enjoying learning to cook new things. They then compete each week to see who is the winning chef and the chosen winners take special photos in a chef’s hat.
We have also planned for a few excursions around Melbourne this term, and will participate in a Beach program with Life Saving Victoria. On Wednesday 25 October, students in Groups 1 – 3 participated in First Aid Training. Students enjoyed the practical activities, such as practising CPR on a dummy or putting their friend in recovery position. This will be a useful skill for them throughout their lives.
Monday 31 October and Tuesday 1 November will be a student-free day and public holiday respectively. WELC students should not come to school on these days. We wish students a safe and enjoyable long weekend! School will resume again on Wednesday 2 November.

This term, we have 18 students enrolled in the WELC cooking elective class from a variety of nationalities.
Our first three recipes have been a huge success and students are also enjoying presenting their food for judging. Congratulations to the following pairs of winners from the first three weeks.
