Welcome back to the start of the last term for 2022. The year has certainly passed us in a blink and here we are starting to consider end-of-year functions. Fortunately, at this stage, we are not having to plan in line with COVID Guidelines. This is the first time since 2019!

The last term is always jammed packed with events. Some include Sports Day/Colour Run, Torrens Camp, excursions, the 2023 Reception transition program, report writing, 2023 class placement, Seniors Graduation, end-of-year events, and new class visits just to name a few.

Sports Day is being held on Thursday, 11th November and will incorporate the 2022 Colour Run the same as last year. This will be followed by the School Closure on Friday, 12th November. This means there is no rush to get children up and ready for school the morning after a massive day.

As we are not restricted due to COVID, families will be able to attend without booking tickets or checking in. Further details regarding Sports Day are in the newsletter and will be distributed to families over the next two weeks.

The final Pupil Free Day has also been approved for Monday, 14th November. Early years teachers will be participating in a custom InitiaLit session to continue developing teacher expertise and the primary teachers will be learning about analysing and planning teaching and learning using reading data.

OSHC will be available on both days. Please see Rheanne for bookings.

Assemblies

For the first time since we have been impacted by COVID we are able to invite families to join us for Assembly. This is a wonderful development that enables us to reconnect with our community. Families that attend will be asked to physically distance themselves, ensure that they are keeping themselves safe and not attend if they are feeling unwell.

The following assemblies are scheduled for this term and will begin at approximately 2:15pm.

  • Friday 28th October - Whole School

  • Friday 4th November - Early Years
  • Friday 18th November - Primary
  • Friday 25th November - Whole School
  • Friday 16th December - Whole School (1:30pm due to early finish)

We will stream this week's Whole School Assembly however this will be passed out for the remainder of the term.

Class Placement 2023

In the first few weeks of Term 4, the process to place students into classes for 2023 will begin.

Classes are formed according to:

  • The number of students at each year level
  • The Education Department’s recommended teacher-to-student ratio as per the funding model
  • Staff knowledge about students' educational needs
  • Information provided by parents that address the LNPS Class Placement Guidelines (please see attached)

Class Placement Guidelines-COMMUNITY.pdf

If parents wish to provide further educational information to support this process, please use the LNPS Class Placement Guidelines. Information or requests that do not meet the criteria outlined in the guidelines will not be taken into consideration.

World Teachers Day

This Friday we celebrate World Teachers Day. Our teachers have shown great resilience during challenging times, all so they can give our students the best future possible.

We will be holding a morning tea this week to acknowledge our wonderful teachers.

We encourage students and families to make a thank you card or video for their teacher. Every acknowledgement counts!

Hats off to teachers this World Teachers’ Day!
