School Council

President's Report

School council held its first meeting of Term 3 last week. All counsellors were in attendance and eager to contribute their varied skills to the governance of our school.

Dave Koolstra our Buildings and Grounds convenor outlined the extensive works that were completed over the school holidays. This included the magnificent stage area, new non-slip decking to the 3/4 portables, drinking taps and drainage works. He also outlined plans for the working bees to be held this term. The first was last Saturday and the next is Sunday 8th September. Both David and Michael Smith were thanked for their contribution of time, effort and expertise over the holidays. These two community members truly go above and beyond their duty and we are so lucky to have them.

Janene spoke about the high level state-wide professional learning that Montmorency staff have been chosen to participate in. This is a fantastic opportunity for staff to build Professional Learning Communities. The initiative will embed an already well developed culture of continuous improvement of teaching practice at Monty Primary. As principal, Janene works tirelessly to provide the opportunity for both the staff and students to thrive. Principals Day was on Friday 2nd August. These days are a great reminder to us to show our appreciation.
