Year 1 Assembly & Excursion

Year 1 Assembly

On the 21st March the Year One’s performed Hickory Dickory Dash for their assembly. The comical version of the traditional nursery rhyme was received well by parents, students and all who attended. Most impressive was the wonderful choral reading that the children did, displaying their beginning reading skills, which were exceptional for the beginning of the year!

Naturescape Excursion

The Year One’s had their very first excursion at the end of term one, to Naturescape at Kings Park! They were going to explore, test out the nature play area and put their observation and inquiry skills to the test in the bush as they searched for living things. The day was a huge adventure! The students enjoyed climbing, wading in the creek, searching for tadpoles and exploring the billiabong and dirt trails. The day was a hive of activity and fun and enjoyed by all. The bus ride back to school was very quiet, as little exhausted bodies rested after their big day.
