Around The College

Year 8 Science
Year 8 science students have been hard at work studying chemistry and the wonders of the periodic table. This has involved students working out the composition of atoms and its sub particles, then drawing electron diagrams for certain elements.
Today's lessons were targeted at smaller groups of students working together to 'model an element' on the board using magnets to represent protons, neutrons and electrons. Some students have gone the extra mile to present an area of interest in which they have a lot of prior knowledge in. For example Hayden 8Y2 who presented his understanding of plasma in the universe. We are all anticipating the various experiments that may lay ahead of us.
