Talented Old Boy Shares His Wisdom

At the last whole school assembly, we welcomed Old Boy, Liam Staltari to address the students.

Liam graduated Mazenod in 2012 as Dux of the College and his ATAR of 99.8 ranks him as the 4th highest achiever in Mazenod’s history. He then completed a Bachelor of Philosophy with First Class Honours in Political Science & International Relations from UWA.

Liam is currently working as a Ministerial Adviser to Senator Mathias Cormann, Federal Minister for Finance and the Public Service. He has served as State Youth Representative of the WA St Vincent de Paul Society (2014 to 2016) and is currently serving as State President of the WA Young Liberal Movement.  Liam was recently elected as Federal President of the Young Liberal Movement of Australia.

His four messages to the boys were:

  • To be a good person and contribute to society. He referred to the opportunity students have to join the Young Vinnies Association at Mazenod.
  • To be an honest and trustworthy person. To live life with the values integral to the College; Respect and Dignity, Compassion and Charity, Courage and Passion.
  • To work hard at your studies.  No matter the individual’s ability, strive for your personal best.
  • To seize the opportunity at Mazenod.  To be involved in the life of the College whether through extra curricula activities such as the Mazenod Trophy, sport, performing arts or Christian service learning.
