Term 2

Maths - Addition and Subtraction

During Maths this term, students in MLA have been learning how to efficiently add and subtract numbers. We have been learning a range of math games to improve number fluency, which is the ability to quickly recall number facts. Building fluency is a key skill as it it helps students manipulate numbers as well as support their ability to problem-solve.

Above, are photos of students having fun by playing games such as: minute to win it, card games and greedy pig to improve their addition and subtraction skills.

These are engaging games that can be played at school and home to support learning.

Change and Transformation

In our Inquiry, students have been exploring the changes created by the movement of the Earth and the Moon. The students generated a range of open ended questions based on their curiosities around Earth science. They researched the questions they developed and wrote informative paragraphs about their findings.  Students learnt about the Earth's rotation and revolution, and how it impacts day, night and seasons.

Sacrament of Eucharist

We have also been preparing for the Sacrament of Eucharist and exploring the transformation of the bread and wine into the body and blood of Jesus. The students have reflected on  the Light of Jesus in their lives the transformation in themselves that happens when they receive the Eucharist.
