Electric cargo bike pop up test rides and subsidised e-cargo bike trials!

School drop off and pick up can often be chaotic for parents, with traffic, congestion and parking a daily struggle! As a school encouraging active travel, we want to allow more families the opportunity to try out alternative school-run options to cars for those that live further, lead busy morning schedules, are concerned about their children riding independently, or simply want to try out something different.

In Term 2, 12 families will be offered a free, four week trial of an e-cargo bike as part of Council’s Subsidised Riding program. Electric bikes are able to get you further distances faster, and the bikes can carry up to two children safely & securely. Through your 4 week trial, you can travel to school, work, the park and back home again quickly, safely and sustainably.

Pop up test rides will be available at the school at the end of May, so keep an eye out for the announcement! This is a great opportunity for you to come and try the bikes and get more information. The bikes will be provided by Lug+Carrie, you can find out more about who they are here: https://lug-carrie.com/

Thank you Lug+Carrie for bringing a cargo bike to our recent Ride2School Day.

Running Club

Thank you to our Parents Lynn (Year 2 and 4), Lizzie (Prep, Year 3 and 4) and Claudette (Year 3) who have kick-started our morning running club for Monday and Thursday mornings. It’s an expectation that students in the cross country team attend the club as training, however any student (or parent!) is also welcome to join the club to increase their fitness or just purely enjoy some morning exercise.

Please note that the club is run by parent volunteers, who will advise families via WhatsApp of the meeting places and protocols that will be in place as the school is not formally supervising the students during these times. You will also be advised of cancellations due to poor weather.

Parents who are interested for their children to join the running club should complete this form and one of the parents will then be in touch: https://forms.gle/DUUo84FQWhMPfb1r9
