Wellbeing News

Dear Sacred Heart Community,
It was lovely to see the smiling faces of our Sacred Heart students this week as they returned after our Easter holidays. Schools are busy places and we have a lot to look forward to this term.
At a Wellbeing Staff Meeting in the last week of term, staff discussed some changes we will implement to reward students for working and playing together in a respectful way. Staff will add students names to a lucky number list and at each Monday assembly, we will use the spinning wheel to call out lucky numbers, where students will select a reward.
While teachers are on yard duty and walking throughout the school we are hoping to "catch students" following the school's expectations. At Sacred Heart have 5 expectations/rules:
- Follow directions.
- Speak politely.
- Keep hands and feet to yourself.
- Move in a safe and mindful way.
- Respect people, equipment and property.
We are all looking forward to the first spinning wheel lucky number draw next week!
Family Week
The SRT and I are planning a few events to celebrate Family Week which is from the 15th -21st May. More details will follow next week!
School Closure Day
On Tuesday 16th of May, there will be a school closure day. Staff will be engaged in professional learning with a focus on neurodiversity.
We will have Emma-Rose Parsons, a psychologist and presenter at schools and community organisations work with us on neuro-affirming education practices.
Take Care,
